FAQs

Frequently Asked Questions, answered.

Here you can see some of our most commonly asked questions to get started with your theme wear costume.

Q - How far in advance should I book in for my swimsuit?

A - As soon as you have decided to compete, hit us up. The longer we have, the better. At a push, and for an additional cost, a costume can be put together in 4 weeks. We prefer to have a minimum of 8 weeks, to be safe. The longer we have, the more research we can do and ideas we can throw around.

Q - How much does a competition bikini cost?

A - every costume is individually priced dependent on size, complexity, hours required and how much bling you want.  We aim to work to every budget as it is our desire to ensure everyone feels special and looks amazing on the day. We also have many ready to ship and rent costumes you can find here, where you can avoid the whole consultation process, and just buy what you love.

Q - Can you do WBFF costumes or WBFF theme wear costumes?

A - Of course we make WBFF costumes (world beauty fitness & fashion) ! We are not limited by the federation. We love making the couture style bikinis and costumes that are classy, elegant and sparkly. A LOT of work goes into these, so please be mindful of this when it comes to cost and time. Some examples of our existing WBFF style swimsuits can be found here.

Q - Can I use my existing bikini to make a new theme wear costume?

A - At KoKo, we are big on recycling, upcycling and will reuse costumes and materials whenever we can.  We want to reduce our carbon footprint, reduce waste and be as eco friendly as possible. We also rent a number of our ready made costumes and this is a great way to keep costs low. Check out our photo galleries to see some of the repurposed existing swimsuits we have transformed into new theme wear costumes here.

Q - Do you service all States?

A - Yes.  We have clients all over Australia (and Worldwide).  You just need to be aware that postage may cost a little more than usual because we are posing across States or countries, but we will usually design our costumes to be packaged as cheaply as possible.

For bodybuilding and fitness competition bikinis, or swimsuits and accessories in Melbourne, look no further thank Koko Australia.

Q - How do I order my fitness bikini or swimsuit from you?

A - when you send us your initial enquiry through the pop up, Instagram DM or contact me page we reply and discuss some initial concepts with you and explain our processes. We can't give you a quote until you tell us what you have in mind. "How much will my fitness competition bikini cost?" can't really be answered unless we know what costume you are talking about. We can schedule a free 15-30 minute consultation on the phone, Zoom, Whatsapp, Instagram, or Messenger to discuss your ideas and budget. Just book in your consultation here! Thereafter, we will provide you with a quotation and if you are happy, you can pay your deposit and we will get started.

For rentals and pre-loved bikinis, you can just add the item into your cart and go from there!

Q - What should I wear for my bodybuilding competition?

A - Let us help you there! Once we have settled on your budget and have an idea of your personality, let us get to work. As soon as we have your deposit paid, we can get to work on your bikini or swimsuit. We usually make a vision board of costume ideas on Pinterest, or create a mood board on Onerive, and have a telephone conversation (or facetime/facebook video call) to hash out some concepts, then we start the ordering and creating.

Remember, each costume is bespoke and individual, so it takes a lot of time, planning, research, labour and supplies. So please take this into consideration when looking at our price for costumes.

Q - What is the best bikini style to wear for my first bodybuilding competition?

A - Whatever you feel the most comfortable, confident and special in. It could be a really simple 2 piece costume that makes you feel a million dollars, with crystals up to the eye balls, or it can be a simple, elegant suit.  For bikini models, you will be judged on your presentation (posing, hair, makeup), overall balance and symmetry, and your suit colour and cut. You should pick a cut that flatters your glutes, and this will depend on your development. Preferred bikini cup style will vary from division to division, so check your federation guidelines first, then come to us for advice as to what will suit your body type.  Make sure to check out our Gallery to see some inspo.

Q - Can you recommend a posing coach?

A - Yes, Nat Kitney is one of the best around. She is based out of Melbourne but services all states and countries! She is so personable and makes you feel amazing too. So you will always leave her sessions feeling so much better than when you went in. Nat offers Zoom sessions, but if you can get in face to face, then do.
